Terms and Conditions
Your contract is with Campervans.com. 7 Oakey Orchard, Lower Metherell, Callington, Cornwall PL17 8DN.
This includes bookings through Budgetcampervans.com and Carhirez.com and other domain names used by Campervans.com. These conditions form part of that contract for all arrangements you book with us. Please note that the conditions may vary slightly and are dependent on the country and rental company. For campervan companies we act as the booking agent their terms apply to you and are available on request.
Payment
To confirm your booking you will need to pay a non-refundable deposit. The exact amount will be advised at the time of booking, full payment may be required at the time of booking. Any balance must be paid by the due date shown on your invoice normally 40 days prior to your hire and failure to do so may result in the cost being increased or ultimately cancellation. Upon payment of a deposit we will send you an invoice and subject to a 5-day cooling off period or sight of the Booking Conditions at the time of booking, the contract between us becomes binding.
Payment will be accepted by:
Visa Debit and Switch Cards - our preferred method.
Visa and Access Cards (Balance payments subject to a 1.5% surcharge).
American Express (Balance payments subject to a 1.9% surcharge).
Cheque - Allow 10 days from postage to clearance.
Bank transfer - Details available from your consultant. This includes payment using BACS, or via the Internet banking services.
Whilst we make every effort to ensure the accuracy of our work, please check all details immediately and advise us of any discrepancies. The name shown on all travel documents should match those on your passport(s). If you are getting married or changing your name,
the name(s) on your passport should reflect those on your travel documents. Failure to comply with this could result in amendment charges being levied.Amendments
This is where you wish to alter the dates of your existing arrangements and applies prior to payment of your balance 40 days prior to collection of you vehicle. Each amendment will incur a charge of £30 per booking plus any additional costs incurred by the agent imposed by the supplier. This charge will be added to your invoice and is non-refundable. Any additional charges passed on to us by suppliers will also be added to this.
Cancellations
This is where you wish to cancel your campervan hire or a component of your holiday booked with Campervans.com or Budgetcampervans.com or car hire through Carhirez.com. The person (or legal representative of the person) who made the booking must notify any cancellation in writing.
a) Prior to payment of balance - If your vehicle hire is cancelled, all moneys paid will be forfeit if cancelled less than 40 days prior to collection of the vehicle.
b) Any additional cancellation charges passed on to us by suppliers will be added to this. Some of our suppliers have special conditions attached to them, which can incur cancellation charges as high as 100%. These will be applied in addition to the above charges. Campervans.com will advise any such conditions to you upon booking.
c) On or after departure cancellation charges will consist of those applied by the supplier or operator and those of Campervans.com. These may amount to the loss of all money paid even where a particular element remains wholly or partially unused.
Note: If the reason for cancellation is covered under the terms of your insurance policy, you may be able to reclaim these charges.
Where you are unable to travel because of serious illness, death or serious illness of a close family relative, jury service, redundancy or unavoidable work commitments you may transfer your booking to another person, subject to the following:
a) You request in writing 28 days before your departure of such a transfer, and
b) Your request is accompanied by written proof of your reason for being unable to travel (such as a doctor's certificate), all original travel documents which you have received and the full name and address of the transferee, and
c) the transferee must fulfil any conditions which apply to the booking and
d) payment by you of a fee made up of firstly, an administrative charge of £100 and, secondly, all costs which those supplying your travel arrangements imposed - for example, some companies may require payment of 100% cancellation charges and payment by you of all costs of the original booking and the transfers.
All changes are subject to the agreement of the hire/holiday company.
Changes/Cancellations
Before you enter into a contract with us, we reserve the right to change any of the facilities, services or prices described in our correspondence and marketing. If a change is made, you will be told at the time of booking. It is unlikely we will have to make any changes to your campervan hire after booking, but we do plan the arrangement many months in advance. Most of these changes are minor, and we will advise you at the earliest possible date. These changes are non-negotiable nor reason to cancel your arrangements. Some changes may only be notified by the hire company at pick up, including the actual make of vehicle.If a major change becomes necessary, we will inform you if there is time before your departure. When a major change occurs you will have the choice of either accepting the change of arrangements, or hiring an alternative campervan with another campervan company, if that is posible.
In all cases, except where a major change arises from circumstances amounting to Force Majeure (see below), we will pay compensation as detailed below. In the unlikely event that we are forced to cancel your holiday, and this will not happen within six weeks of departure except for reasons of non-payment or Force Majeure, we will offer you a comparable alternative or a full refund.
Force Majeure
Force Majeure includes war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire or adverse weather conditions or other similar events beyond our control and that of our suppliers.
Changes to pick up and drop off
Unless otherwise stated, the pick up and drop off locations of your campervan hire cannot be changed, once the balance has been paid within 45 days.
Vouchers
Travel vouchers will be sent to you approximately 10 days or more prior to departure, unless you have made a late booking. At peak times this may not be the case and we will then use appropriate mail services to get vouchers to you prior to departure. No vouchers will be sent out unless final payment has been received and cleared. Vouchers will be sent by normal Royal Mail services or by e-mail or fax. Should you require the added security and speed of Data Post or courier delivery, this can be arranged providing any costs are covered by you. You should be aware that travel documents entrusted to Royal Mail services are done so at your own risk. Campervans.com cannot accept responsibility for items lost or delayed in the post.
Refunds
Any refund received back from the supplier is then subject to loss of deposit and 15% cancellation charges, unless advised differently at the time of booking. Refunds can take up to 3 months to be dealt with both by Campervans.com and the supplier.
Prices are calculated on the date shown in all correspondence or the relevant brochures and are based on the exchange rates shown in the correspondence at time of booking. The price of your holiday may be subject to surcharges on the following items: government action, including changes in tax and currency exchange rates. Should you decide to cancel because of surcharges, you must exercise your right to do so within 14 days from the date of the amended invoice. No surcharge will be imposed within 30 days of the departure date.
Problems during hire.
If you have a problem during your hire, please contact the supplier concerned. If this is not possible or satisfactory, please contact the office where the booking was made by phone or fax. We would aim to answer as soon as possible but please bear in mind time zone differences. It is only if our suppliers and Campervans.com are aware of a problem at the time it occurs that we will have the opportunity to put things right. Failure by you to notify us and our suppliers of any difficulties may seriously affect your legal rights. It may even result in any refunds or compensation to which you may be entitled, being reduced or extinguished.
If the problem cannot be resolved in the above manner, please contact us in writing at the registered address within 28 days of your return, quoting your booking reference and all other relevant information and documentation. This is a condition set as precedent for acceptance of liability. Correspondence will be automatically acknowledged and dealt with. Please bear in mind our need to investigate matters raised with suppliers or agents involved.
Our acceptance of liability is only given provided that you have written to us as detailed above and provided that you have acted as detailed above.
a) Where you do not suffer personal injury, we accept liability should any part of the campervan hire arrangements booked with us not be supplied as described in our correspondence. In such a case, we will pay reasonable compensation if enjoyment of the campervan hire arrangements has been adversely affected, but will pay no compensation if there has been no fault on our part or our suppliers and the reason for failure in the campervan hire arrangements was your fault, the actions of someone unconnected with the campervan hire arrangements or could not have been foreseen or avoided by us or our suppliers even after all due care had been exercised.
b) Our acceptance of liability and the amount of any compensation payable are limited, in the case of campervan hire
c) Our acceptance of liability is subject to assignment by you to us of your rights against any agents, supplier or sub-contractor of ours which is in any way responsible for the unsatisfactory campervan hire arrangements, for your death or personal injury.
This contract (including all matters arising from it) is subject to English Law and the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Court. The hire contract will be under the law and country defined in that contract and terms and conditions of the hire supplier.
Privacy and Data Protection
Campervans.com only collects personal information about you (for example your name, address, telephone number, email address and credit card details) when you specifically provide us with such information on a voluntary basis, for example when purchasing or enquiring about campervan or car hire online or by phone or fax.. Any personal information we collect via our web site will never be released or sold to any companies or individuals outside of Campervans.com, Budgetcampervans.com, Carhirez.com.
We will not share your personal information for marketing or any other purposes without your consent unless where required by law. If you have registered your interest with www.campervans.com and/or any of our associated companies, and thereby given your consent, you may be contacted with relevant promotions, offers or information that you have expressed an interest in or that might be of interest to you.
What we do with your information
We use the information you provide us with to provide you with quotes and booking car hire or campervan hire as requested. We may occasionally use some of the same information (such as the type of campervan that you have requested) to tailor the content of this site to the interests of our users. By making a booking from this site you are consenting to your financial and/or personal information being passed to any third party organisations necessary to process your transactions with Campervans.com, such as credit card companies, banks and the companies that handle bookings on our behalf. Except for these specific cases, we will never share financial information with third parties without your specific consent.
Opting out
IF YOU DO NOT WISH TO RECEIVE FURTHER CONTACT FROM CAMPERVANS.COM PLEASE email us with your name, address and email address. We will always respect your privacy and any personal communication between you and ourselves. We will always comply with any data protection legislation currently in force.
Information and the law
We may occasionally release your personal or financial information to assist law enforcement, to comply with laws or regulations, to enforce the terms under which you transacted with Campervans.com, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Campervans.com, users of the site or others.
Security measures
We take the security of your personal information very seriously.

Campervans.com is not responsible for the privacy policies or practices of any third party sites linked to this site. Consequently we advise you to read their privacy policies before submitting data to such sites.
