If you rent a sleeper car. The SUV with a double bed in the rear of the vehicle then you can rent these at 21 years old.
Spaceships, Bunk Campers, Bumble Campers and Getaway rent these types of campers.
If you want to rent a larger motorhome then you will have to be at least 25 years old.
You can rent larger newer motorhomes from Amber Leisure, JustGo and McRent.

Driving licences have to be in English. If not, then an international driving licence is required with translation.
If you have a photo card licence then take your NI number with you so that ID can be checked with the DVLA.
Drivers from outside of the UK need an international driving licence translated to English.

Yes, it is possible to take your campervan and tour Europe. There are some countries that we are not able to allow you to take your campervan to as there is no insurance or breakdown available for the following countries:
Ferry crossings can be pre-booked by some of our suppliers.
There is usually an extra daily fee that pays for breakdown cover and European insurance. This is generally between £5 to £10 per day.
Yes you can with some of the smaller camping cars that we rent out such as Spaceships. One-way rentals are on a request basis only.
What Are The Terms and Conditions When Renting a Motorhome or Campervan in England?
If you cancel your booking the initial deposit is not refundable. In addition to this, the following fees may apply:
If you cancel between 999 and 46 days before pick up you will be charged 25% of the cost of rental.
If you cancel between 45 and 18 days before pick up you will be charged 50% of the cost of rental.
If you cancel less than 17 days before pick up or are a no show, you will be charged 100% of the cost of rental.
Additional Fees and Charges are usually optional.

Yes, is some cases. Justgo allow pets, Spaceships don't. Each company has a different policy. Please check the terms and conditions before you book or ask us to help.
All rental vehicles have insurance cover with a set insurance liability amount. You will have to cover the insurance excess by a credit card payment.
There are options to reduce the level of liability by purchasing additional insurance at an additional daily rate. Charges are shown on our booking engine.

Additional European cover is offered by some suppliers so that you can take your rented camper across the Channel or the Irish Sea.
Are there any other charges when renting a campervan?
Yes, there is windscreen and tyre cover options to pay for with some of our suppliers.
Parking fees can be charged if you take your car to the depot and leave it there while you are away in your campervan.
If you can drive a car then you will be able to drive a campervan or motorhome.
Be aware that the motorhomes are longer and wider and have an overhead bed called a luton. Take extra care when driving close to hedges, walls and under bridges that you allow good clearance.
Many of the newer motorhomes have reversing cameras but we still recommend that the driver be assisted in reversing or parking the motorhome in restricted areas.
Yes, we have a filter on our booking engine so that you can either see all manual or all automatic transmission camepervans and motorhomes or both.
Does Someone show me how things work in the campervan?
It takes about an hour to show you how to look after your motorhome while on holiday.
You will be shown how to:
- Empty the cassette toilet if the camper has one.
- Empty grey water tanks.
- Keep the water levels topped up.
- How the sink and shower works.
- How to use the gas appliances work.
- How the fridge works.
- Where everything is.
- How to use the tv, cd player.
- How to turn on and off the gas.
- How to check instruments that show fluid levels.
- where the manuals are.
- How to set up the beds.
- Where everything is kept.
- How to connect the campervan to the mains.
- How the battery powers the internal lights etc.
- When you can use the microwave.
You should be fully conversant with where everything is and how everything works after your induction.
Some companies offer transfers from the airport or train station.
There are additional charges for this service.
You can make your own way to the depot or you can leave your car at the depot and there may be an additional parking charge for this.

This does vary but some of our suppliers are happy with a minimum of three nights. Some state 5 nights. During peak seasons this could be longer.
Yes, at the discretion of the depot manager. Book early and expect to pay an additional relocation fee.
Motorhomes generally do about 25 to 30 miles to the gallon. The smaller sleeper cars go much further.

There are no hidden costs. Once you have selected your choice of vehicle and filled in the above information boxes a list of optional extras will be given. Yes, bookings can be changed. If you make changes well in advance of the hire then no charges are made.
However, date changes and location changes can sometimes incur additional charges. Please contact us to clarify before any changes are made.

Yes, you can take your own seats and in some cases you are able to pre-book them for a small fee.
You will need to spend most nights on a designated campsite unless authorised by a land owner. Check with other campers in the area that you want to stay overnight. Scotland has more opportunities for free camping.
Check with us before you book. It will depend on how many. There may be an option to take additional insurance so that you are able to rent with points. Every supplier is different. Terms and Conditions state who each company is prepared to rent to depending on the number of penalty points.
You can rent all year round. It is colder and wetter during the winter months but all the campers do have heaters for the hardy!
Renting in the winter months - November to March is cheaper.
Book well ahead for the summer and the summer school holidays between July and August.
Book as far ahead as possible for the Glastonbury Festival during June.
