The Cheapest Way to tour Belgium in a Campervan is actually to start your rental from Lille in France. This is because the cost to rent from Brussels can include a pick-up and return fee of €850.00, as these vehicles are sent from outside the country.

This is why it’s often cheaper to rent a campervan from other depots in France, Germany and the Netherlands. Amsterdam is only 200 km away from Brussels, and you’re sure to have a great adventure starting your Belgium trip from this epic city.

Unfortunately, there are no other depots in Belgium that you can rent a campervan or motorhome from with Budgetcampervans.com. To avoid paying the location fees mentioned above, you can rent from any of the depots close to the Belgium border. Lille in France, for example, shares a border with Belgium.

There are two companies (Black Sheep Campers and Origin Campers) based in Lille that offer small sleeper cars, low-top campers and VW Transporter pop-top campers. Full comprehensive insurance with an excess of €600.00 is standard in Belgium. This excess must be covered by a credit card when you collect your campervan. This is the amount you will be liable for in the event of any damage occurring to the campervan or motorhome.
