Class A Motorhomes

The Family Sleeper is El Monte's Class A motorhome. This is the largest and most luxurious RV, ranging in size from 34 to 45 feet. This RV is ideal for larger groups or families who want to travel in style and comfort. Plenty of space for sleeping, eating, and relaxing, with features such as slide-outs and a full-size kitchen. Sleeps four adults and two children in two double beds, two bunk beds or two smaller single beds converted from the dining area and couch.

Class C Motorhomes

El Monte's Class C motorhomes range in size from 21 to 29 feet and all have full-size kitchens, a bathroom, and comfortable sleeping areas. El Monte's Class C motorhomes include the following models:

Class C Small RV 21 to 23 ft

This sleeps 3 adults and a child. This 4-berth motorhome has a double bed above the cab, a fixed rear bed and the option of converting the dining area into a bed. There are seatbelts for four people. This Ford Chevy (or similar) has a 6 litre petrol engine and is automatic.

Class C Medium 24 to 26ft

This sleeps 5 adults. There is a fixed double bed at the rear, a double bed above the cab and a single bed converted from the dining area. Separate shower room. This is a Ford, automatic, petrol RV with awning.

Class C Large 27 to 29ft

This sleeps 4 adults and two children in a fixed double bed, a double over the cab and two singles made up from the couch and dinette. This is a large airy RV with plenty of room for a family.

El Monte offer an all-inclusive rate that includes unlimited mileage, kitchen kit, personal convenience kit and prep fee for a one-off fee. It is sometimes a cheaper option, but not always. We give you the option to try out both to get the best deal. If you need help, just contact us.

1. Los Angeles, California: Hollywood, Disneyland, Universal Studios, Santa Monica Beach, Beverly Hills. Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is 22 miles away. The depot is open 7 days.

2. San Francisco, California: Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Alcatraz Island, Muir Woods National Monument. San Francisco International airport (SFO) is 39 miles from the depot.

3. San Diego, California: Joshua Tree, Channel Islands National Parks. San Diego international airport is 7 miles from the depot. (about 20 mins by car)

4. Las Vegas, Nevada: The Las Vegas Strip, Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Only 6 miles from McCarran International Airport (LAS)

5. Denver, Colorado: Rocky Mountain National Park, Mount Evans Scenic Byway, Garden of the Gods. Nearly 50 miles from the Denver International airport. 

6. Seattle, Washington: Space Needle, Pike Place Market, Mount Rainier National Park, Olympic National Park. 14 miles from the Tacoma International Airport.

7. Miami, Florida: South Beach, Art Deco Historic District, Everglades National Park, Key West. El Monte is 9 miles northwest of the Miami International Airport. 

8. New York, New York (Newark): Statue of Liberty, Central Park, Times Square, Empire State Building. The depot is 2 miles from Liberty International (EWR) airport and about 25 miles from JFK airport.

9. Orlando, Florida: Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, SeaWorld Orlando, Kennedy Space Centre. 10 miles from Orlando International Airport (MCO)

10. Salt Lake City, Utah: Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park. 6 miles from the international airport.

11. Chicago, Illinois: Indiana Dunes National Park. The depot is 19 miles from O'Hare International Airport (ORD).

12. Dallas, Texas: Big Ben National Park and Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District. 18 miles from Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) and 12 miles from Dallas Love Field Airport (DAL)

Transfers

Most depots are open 7 days a week with some exceptions. Our booking engine lists opening times and transfer details from all of El Monte RV's depots.  

Insurance options:

There is Public Liability Insurance (included in the daily rate) that covers damage to a third party. 

SLI (Supplemental Liability Insurance) covers an increased limit to damage to a third party.

VIP Coverage is included in the daily rate to cover damage caused by a third party, a non-insured party and windscreen and tyre damage. This insurance can be upgraded to reduce the insurance excess to nil. Details when you book or request a quote.

Travel to Mexico with El Monte RV:

Many rental companies in the US prohibit travel to Mexico. El Monte does allow Mexico visits when you take out additional Mexico Auto Liability Insurance (MALI). This insurance covers damage and theft.

Taxes:

State taxes vary from state to state. These additional charges are included in the full breakdown of charges before you book.

What is PAD?

PAD is Priority AM Departure and guarantees departure before 11am. Online check in must be completed 7 days prior to collection. This option is only available in some of the El Monte Depots and is an additional charge. This includes a complimentary shuttle service. No transfers are supplied arrivals on the same day on international flights.

Late returns:

Late returns will incur a fee.

What is the Prep fee?

This is a small additional charge to cover the preparation of the RV for rental and ensures that the fuel and propane tanks are full. This also covers ensuring the RV is clean, well maintained and ready for use. It is a standard fee added to RV rental in the USA.

International Visitors to the USA

Rates for International Visitors to the USA are different than those offered to US residents.

One way rentals:

One-way rentals are available between all El Monte camper rental locations. Please note that confirmation of a one-way rental request sometimes takes longer to confirm as the El Monte fleet manager has to confirm availability. If your first choice of vehicle is not available El Monte may offer an alternative. 

As part of budget campervans service, we will contact other rental companies to see if we can offer other options if your first choice of motorhome is not available.

Are Road Bear the same company as El Monte RV rentals?

They are owned and operated by THL, the same holding company. Mighty Campers are also part of the THL group and share some depots with El Monte RV.

Discounts:

El Monte offer discounts on the rental throughout the year. Budget campervans applies all discounts when you request a quote or make a booking. 

Book early for cheaper daily rental rates. The further in advance that you book your rv rental the cheaper it will be.

Prohibited Roads:

Your vehicle will not be covered by insurance if you drive through Death Valley from June to September or if you drive on rough tracks or unsealed roads.

You are also not covered if you drive to the north of Canada or Alaska.

Winterisation:

El Monte's fleet is ”winterised” during the colder months from approximately November to April. This means that there is no running water in the RV.

Burning Man:

El Monte RV permits motorhomes to be taken to Burning Man with extra security payments, cleaning fees. You will need to ensure that you have a generator on board. Seal all windows and doors to keep out the desert dust.  Book as early as you can for this festival.

Long Term Rentals:

El Monte offers good discounts on extended rentals.  Extended rentals are considered rentals over 30 days duration. Book well in advance as long-term rentals are in high demand. Discounts on one-way rental fees and mileage may be available.

How old do I have to be to rent an El Monte RV?

In most cases the minimum age has to be 21 and you must have held a licence for over two years. However, some vehicles are restricted to drivers 25 years old and above. El Monte doesn't have an upper age limit but drivers over 70 years old may be required to provide a doctor's certificate to confirm ability to drive.
