When is the best time to visit Poland?

Spring - good for hiking through mountains, although expect some rain. Weather is moderately warm.

Summer - the weather is warm and dry but the coast will be very busy with Polish tourists on holiday.

Autumn often the most popular time to visit Poland in campervans and motorhomes as the weather is still warm and dry and most tourists have gone home.

Winter is cold. Plenty of snow for the skiers.

Campsites in Poland

Parking overnight in National Parks is prohibited. Campsites are cheap in Poland and there are hundreds to choose from.

Wild camping in Poland is not officially permitted and you could be fined but if you have the permission of a land-owner then you will be ok.

Driving in Poland

Some of the main roads are quite rough and potholed. The motorways are useful for quickly getting from one city to another, travelling south to north or east to west.

Drive with headlights on. Seatbelts are compulsory.

Toll roads in Poland

Online payment via an app, or prepay with an e-ticket is the only way to pay for some tolls in Poland.

Some motorways take cash, credit card or e-ticket. The Polish currency is the zloty not Euros.
